The ICYF and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the ICYF International Young Volunteers Camp 2025, with its seventh edition under the theme “Psychosocial Wellbeing of Young Volunteers Facing Any Challenges.” This year’s volunteers camp, which will be held from the 28th of April to the 10th of May 2025 in Antalya, will focus on equipping young volunteers with essential skills through comprehensive psychosocial support training, empowering them to play a vital role in the recovery processes following humanitarian crises and natural disasters within OIC geography.

On 20-24 May 2024, the ICYF delegation visited the city of Marrakech for technical evaluation of the preparations of hosting “Marrakech OIC Youth Capital – 2025” International Programme at the invitation by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication of the Kingdom of Morocco.
During the visit, several meetings were held to apprehend the facilities on the field such as youth centers, conferences halls, universities? museums, historical zones and health infrastructure.
The OIC Youth Capital International Programme serves as a dynamic platform for Muslim youth to strengthen solidarity, promote the spirit of unity and foster inter-cultural diversity.

During the visit to Marrakech, the ICYF delegation was received by H.E. Farid Chourak, Wali (Governor) of the Marrakech-Safi region. The Governor assured the readiness of Marrakech City to host the OIC Youth Capital International Programme in 2025.

The Shusha OIC Youth Capital 2024 official launch and handover ceremony was held in the pearl of Karabakh, the historic city of Shusha from the 4th to the 6th of June 2024.
ICYF President H.E. Taha Ayhan was among the key speakers and attendees at the grand opening together with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports H.E. Farid Gayibov, Boubakari Maiga from the OIC, MP Shahin Ismayilov, and SESRIC Chief of Cabinet Atilla Karaman.
Addressing the gathering, Mr.Ayhan recalled the words of the President of Azerbaijan H.E. Ilham Aliyev, the victorious Commander In Chief who liberated Karabakh stated, “We deeply grieve for the families who lost their loved ones and for the innocent children killed in Palestine.” “The current difficulties require us to show realistic solutions and sincere solidarity with our brothers,” he added. During the course of the year, more than 150 young participants from 36 countries will engage in year-long events on science, culture, sports, entrepreneurship, social innovation, and education, under the theme ‘Empowering Youth, Uniting Cultures.’
Shusha is not just a geographical location on the map of Azerbaijan; it is a page of history, a symbol of strength in resistance and resilience over decades. With the program starting here today, we will highlight Shusha’s history and culture and share it with the global community through the lens of youth” he added.
During his speech, Youth and Sports Minister H.E. Mr. Gayibov announced plans for over 12 large-scale offline and online events, covering various fields such as science, culture, sports, entrepreneurship, social innovation, and education for the youth of the Islamic world in collaboration with ICYF.
Over 150 young participants from 36 countries will engage in year-long events on science, culture, sports, entrepreneurship, social innovation, and education, under the theme ‘Empowering Youth, Uniting Cultures.’
The three-day launch also featured the International Leadership and Diplomacy Conference, the ‘Islamic Youth Talks for Peace and Harmony’ panel, and the NexGen Social Innovation Forum and a city tour of Shusha.

“The Protocol of Commitment on holding Shusha OIC Youth Capital 2024 International Programme” has been signed by H.E. Taha Ayhan, the ICYF President and H.E. Farid Gayibov, the Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 28 March 2024, in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Following the Signing Ceremony, a press conference was held to highlight upcoming yearlong activities for youth development.
The city of Shusha of Azerbaijan will host young people through diverse events to celebrate the year of OIC Youth during 2024.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree in accordance with paragraph 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, ratifying the decision made at the 11th meeting of the ICYF Executive Board, held on November 10, 2023, in Istanbul, selecting Shusha as the host of the “OIC Youth Capital 2024” International Program. The decree mandates the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan to prepare and execute an action plan concerning Shusha’s designation as the youth capital of the OIC for 2024 and to address any other pertinent issues stemming from this decision.

We are thrilled to announce the city of Shusha, Azerbaijan, as the OIC Youth Capital 2024, the new epicenter for youth development, international projects and intercultural diversity in the OIC region.
Shusha, the 10th host of OIC Youth Capital, will leverage this unique opportunity to foster cooperation among OIC member states in youth policy and enhance Muslim youth solidarity. It aims to promote intercultural diversity and the spirit of “unity” among the youth of the OIC geography and beyond through various activities.
The year-long OIC Youth Capital International Program encompasses a series of activities and events, spanning culture, academic life, youth leadership, entertainment, sports, and youth capacity building. The program aims to empower and engage Muslim youth by providing them with an international stage to shine and prosper.
