This event is dedicated to the Youth, and aims to;

Closing the registration for participation in Doha Muslim Youth Forum

Initiated and organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports within the Activities of Doha – OIC Youth Capital 2019

The forum is to be inaugurated on the 7th of July with a significant contribution of the youth from all over the Islamic world

 The Organizing Committee of the Doha – OIC Youth Capital 2019, has closed the registration to participate in the Doha Muslim Youth Forum organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports as from the 7th to the 11th of July.

It is noteworthy that, the formation of the evaluation team is expected to be on the 30th of June, after which the forum shall be set for inauguration on due time under the motto: “The Nation with its Youth”, which is the elected theme of the events.

The forum shall see light due to a notable cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum – ICYF, the youth driver of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

While, the Forum shall be organized by the Qatar Center for Cultural and Heritage Events.

The screening committee shall elect 90 participants of both genders from the participating countries pursuant to  impartial criteria, which  shall be concerned with attaining and realizing remarkable and extraordinary contributions in youth activities, as well as contributing activity in the social media, and holding supreme capabilities and capacities to accomplish the foremost roles in the event.

It is worth mentioning that, the number of participants from OIC member countries, reached 57, from: Oman, Kuwait, the countries of  Maghreb Region, as well as Indonesia, Malaysia and many others.

While, the participants from the non-member countries were 58 countries, along with, a remarkable number of the received applications for registration that reached 9200 participants of all the countries.

Moreover, more than 1700 inquiries, feedbacks and explanations from the youth of the world were received until the conclusion of registration, the thing which clearly demonstrates the keenness and eagerness of youth to partake in the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum

The organization of the forum came in line with the numerous events planned by the State of Qatar within the activities of Doha – OIC Youth Capital 2019, in compliance with the fact that the Nations have always counted on their youth to construct and shape their future and attain the sustainable development and cultural thrive and advancement for their societies,  the thing which grants the Youth a leading edge and a capacity to propose and realize unparalleled achievements.

They can at the same time contribute to the discussion on the development issues, and partake in the formulation of their projects and accomplishments. Definitely, the nation’s forte and main asset lies in its youth, “the Nation with its Youth” which the slogan and the main theme adopted for the activities. 

The themes of the forum are about the sage governance and transparency among youth, and youth and the bet on sustainable development, youth and social media, as well as the diplomatic simulations.

The forum shall comprise three workshops that shall thoroughly deliberate the role of the youth in consolidating a culture of sage governance, sound management of the human and financial resources in youth institutions, as well as the integrity and promoting and nurturing a culture of rejecting corruption.

The second theme shall tackle the youth and the bet on sustainable development, through three workshops dealing with the role of youth initiatives in realizing the sustainable development, as well as enabling and empowering the youth in the domains of education, training, sustainable development and the youth challenges.

While the third theme shall shed light on the youth and social media, and comprising of three workshops on the influence of the social networking on the cultural practices of youth, besides, the role of social media in the social responsibility, youth and the safe usage of social networking sites.

In parallel with the Forum activities, a training course shall be held on the model adopted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the directions and procedures of the model of Islamic cooperation.

Moreover, the Forum shall initiate four mock sessions; the first three sessions shall tackle with the issue of good governance and transparency among youth, youth and the bet on sustainable development, youth and social media, while the fourth mock session shall comprise drafting the resolutions and approvals.

Besides, the Forum shall present two simulation sessions to the Islamic Summit, the first of which shall adopt the draft resolutions, and the second shall be restricted to the adoption and declaration of these resolutions.

Finally, field visits shall be organized for the participants in order to get to know the marvel State of Qatar and its remarkable lushness in countless fields,  and to get a firsthand opportunity to discover the reach culture of the State of Qatar, and the major empowerment bestowed upon its youth, and their dynamic and significant presence at all levels.

More than 9,200 youths from around the world have registered to participate in the Doha Muslim Youth Forum from July 7 to 11, in connection with ‘Doha – The Capital of Islamic Youth 2019’. 
The forum will be held under the theme ‘Youth is the power of the nation’.
The event will be organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation under the supervision of the Qatar Center for Cultural and Heritage Events.
The forum is part of several events being organised by Qatar within the activities of ‘Doha – The Capital of Islamic Youth 2019’ to enable youth to discuss development issues and participate in the formulation and implementation of projects.
The event aims to present and discuss issues related to youth as a key driver in building future development strategies, developing the capacities of young people to face the challenges of civilisation and development, and benefiting from modern means of communication in promoting the values of citizenship.
The forum will include several workshops that discuss the role of young people in establishing a culture of good governance; management of human and financial resources in youth institutions; integrity and promotion of culture; and enhancing the culture of renouncing corruption.
The event will be accompanied by a training course on the model of the Islamic Cooperation Organization and the rules and procedures of the model of Islamic cooperation.

The participants should be from the OIC Member States or representatives of an Islamic community and must submit a certificate of good conduct.
The registration and CV forms will be studied by a specialised committee, which will select 90 participants from participating countries according to objective criteria. 
The registration form, CV and the required information should be attached through the website of Doha – The Capital of Islamic Youth: https://www.dohaiyc.qa. The selected participants will receive confirmation of participation through their e-mail.
The Ministry of Culture and Sports has received more than 1,700 inquiries, ideas and observations from the youth around the world, which reflects the interest of young people in participating in the Islamic Cooperation Forum.
The organising committee will honour the outstanding youth at the closing ceremony in recognition of their participation through time commitment, collaboration with colleagues, active participation, knowledge of the workshop, creativity and innovation.
The committee will evaluate all participants and select the candidates to win the Youth Excellence Award. 
The first three boys and first three girls will be announced on the website of ‘Doha – The Capital of Islamic Youth 2019’ on July 31.

DOHA: The Ministry of Culture and Sports will hold Doha Muslim Youth Forum from July 7 to 11, in connection with ‘Doha – The Capital of Islamic Youth 2019’.

The Forum will be held under the motto “Youth is the power of the nation”, which is the theme of the activities. 

It will be organised in cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation under the supervision and organizing of the Qatar Center for Cultural and Heritage Events.

Conditions of participation

The general conditions for participating in the Forum include the age of the participant should be between 18 and 30 years.

The participation should be from the youth of the OIC Member States or representatives of an Islamic community. The participant must submit a certificate proving that he has good conduct and that the participant complies with the rules.

The registration and CV forms will be studied through a specialized committee, which will select 90 participants from participating countries according to objective criteria. 

The number of participating OIC member countries reached 57 from Oman, Kuwait, and Arab countries, in addition to Indonesia, Malaysia and other countries. 

The number of non-member countries was 58 and the number of registered youth exceeded 9200 participants.  Also the Ministry received more than 1700 inquiries, ideas and observations from the youth around the world which reflects the interest of young people in participating in the Islamic Cooperation Forum.

“DOHA-OIC YOUTH CAPITAL 2019” HAS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, The Amir of the State of Qatar ICYF organized official inauguration ceremony of “Doha – OIC Youth Capital 2019” together with the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the State of Qatar and Qatar Culture Heritage Events Center in Doha, the State of Qatar.

On 28 April 2019, Official Inauguration Ceremony of the “Doha – OIC Youth Capital 2019” was kicked off with the participation H.H. Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the State of Qatar, H.E. Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports of the State of Qatar,  H.E. Mr. Taha Ayhan, President of ICYF, H.E. Gen. Jibril Rajoub, Chairman of Higher Council for Youth and Sport of the State of Palestine, H.E. Saad bin Mohammed Al Mardhoof Al-Saadi, Minister of Sports Affairs of Oman, heads of diplomatic missions of the OIC Member States and their youth representatives. 

The opening ceremony carried out with the introduction of Doha OIC Youth Capital 2019, its main activities that are Doha Muslim Youth Forum, Doha Oasis for Innovation, Volunteering and Humanitarian Relief Work Camp, Doha Awards for Youth Creativity and Grand Closing Ceremony in order to provide effective platforms for young people where they can discus common challenges, recognize their common values and strengthen solidarity, unity under the hospitality of the State of Qatar.

Doha OIC Youth Capital 2019 is designed for the betterment of youth development and underlines the importance of youth with its special motto `Youth is the power of Ummah` for youth, with youth and by youth.

During the ceremony the opening speech delivered by H.E. Mr. Taha Ayhan, ICYF President, in his capacity as the implementing Agency of the Program, as well as the keynote speech addressed by H.E. Gen. Jibril Rajoub, in representation of the previous OIC Youth Capital, which was Al-Quds Al-Sharif.

Mr. Ayhan started his speech by thanking to H.H. Sheikh Tamin Bin Hamad Al-Thani, The Amir of the State of Qatar, for granting his high patronage, which is a clear sign of his personal commitment to development of young generation. He continued by emphasizing that “in spite of the challenges that Islamic geography faces in our day and age, youth must retain a critical intellect, yet a deep optimism of the spirit”. In such context, “ICYF is working in such an approach to developing an integrated youth program that addresses increasing economic opportunities for youth. This includes promoting employment, access to basic services, reducing disparities and enhancing their role in the decision-making process..”

This beautiful, iconic city will be home to the various of events, and its slogan reflects the deep thinking and strategic vision of the Ministry of culture and sports in bringing the Muslim youth together in service of the Ummah

At the end of ceremony, H.H. Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the State of Qatar, H.E. Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports of the State of Qatar, H.E. Mr. Taha Ayhan, President of ICYF handed over `KEY of DOHA OIC Youth Capital 2019 ` to young people for opening array of youth activities in the city of Doha, State of Qatar.
