After much suspense, the winners of the Y-2nd Shiraz OIC Youth Capital Film Festival, the Best Short Film Awards were given to youth in different categories, as announced by the jury.

The award winning youth film-makers are as follows:
Best Narrative Film Award: “Talk to the Fish” by Ms. Maryam Zahirimehr, Iran.
Best Film Screenplay: “A Letter to God” by Sadiqur Rahman, Bangladesh.
Best Animation Film: “Rumour” by Leyla Nouroozy, Iran.

For the Short Story Contest, the Best Short Stories were announced by the international jury and awarded during the Grand Closing Ceremony. The award winning young writers are as follows: 
1st place: Mr. Mirmehdi Agaoglu from Azerbaijan, “The Eighty-Fifth Day”.
2nd place: Ms. Atef Saadat Tavasoli from Iran, “Saturday”.
3rd place: Mr. Yusuf Usman, from Nigeria, “Survivor of the Insurgency”.

For the Fine Arts Festival-Calligraphy Workshop, four successful young calligraphers were awarded. The successful participants are as follows:
1. Mr. Hadis Terzic from Bosnia-Herzegovina.
2. Ms. Zana Tahirovic from Bosnia-Herzegovina.
3. Mr. Hatem Mohammed Arafa from Egypt.
4. Mr. Salko Junuzovic from Bosnia-Herzegovina.

ICYF-DC President H.E. Amb. Elshad Iskandarov also presented the Special Exemplary Performance Award for “Shiraz – OIC Youth Capital 2017” to the Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of Iran, H.E. Mohammad Mehdi Tondgouyan, the Governor of Fars Province of Iran H.E. Ismail Tabarda.
